Newsflash: There really are Republicans in Chicago!

Tuesday night, the Northwest Side GOP Club held their monthly meeting to announce candidates and start the arduous process of collecting petition signatures for the 2020 IL GOP Primary.  The Republicans gathered at Oriole Park on the city's Northwest Side.

Matt Podgorski, chairman of the club moderated the meeting with help from Vice President Ammie Kessem. Matt passed a football to each speaker to add some levity to the meeting. US Senate candidates were given three minutes each to talk about their campaigns, including Peggy Hubbard and Mark Curran.

Cook County Board Review Commissioner Dan Patlak was also in attendance collecting petition signatures.

The NW side GOP kicked off their petition drive for the four Ward Committeeman candidates and three legislative candidates. 

  • 38th Ward – Chuck Hernandez
  • 39th Ward – Barry Bebart 
  • 41st Ward – Ammie Kessem
  • 45th Ward – Kerri Urbanski

 

  • State Rep 19th District – TBA
  • State Rep 20th District – Brad Stephens
  • State Senate 10th District – TBA

They will announce the appointments of Deputy Ward Committeemen and Committeewomen for each of the four wards and Norwood Park Township.

The Republican Women of Park Ridge,  Republicans of Maine Township, and Niles Township Republican Organization will kick off their election season with a meeting Thursday night at 7:00pm. All are invited with coffee and desserts being served. Featured Speakers include Tim Schneider (IL GOP Chairman) and Valerie Mukerjee (10th Congressional District Candidate).
