According to the World Health Organization, since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, 75 million people have been infected with the HIV virus and about 32 million people have died of HIV. Globally, 37.9 million [32.7–44.0 million] people were living with HIV at the end of 2018. [WHO data HERE] In fact, 770,000 individuals died of HIV/AIDS in 2018. [UN data HERE]

As of 5/3/20, there has been a total of 248,012 deaths worldwide due to COVID-19.

Closer to home, according to the CDC, since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, nearly 675,000 people with AIDS in the United States have died, and even today, nearly 13,000 people with AIDS in the United States die each year. See factsheet HERE.

As of 5/3/20, 68,507 Americans have died of COVID.

People infected with AIDS are not quarantined or forced to stop any activities. However, the entire nation is forced into quarantine/lockdown due to COVID-19.
