Last week was a tragedy for America’s honor and reputation and it was a serious threat to world peace. President Biden’s horrific decision to withdraw America’s troops from Afghanistan before removing our civilians, our Afghan allies that risked their lives for America, not informing or getting consent from our NATO allies, and removing or destroying $85 billion of American weapons that the Taliban will now use against us is nothing short of a total catastrophe. The Taliban now has $85 billion of weapons that U.S. taxpayers paid for that it will use to slaughter our allies, Afghan women and children, and possibly even American troops and civilians! President Biden’s disastrous speech on the Afghan disaster last week was filled with obvious dishonesty and irrationality and has caused massive damage to America’s honor and trust both here in America and throughout the free world. China, Russia, and Iran could not be happier because President Biden has clearly signaled that under him, our allies can not count on America to stand with them and to keep its promises.
Biden put over 15,000 American civilians in Afghanistan at tremendous risk by pulling out our troops before those American civilians were pulled out of Afghanistan. That is a horrific betrayal to American citizens. He left it up to them to get through thousands of dangerous Taliban troops to get to the airport to get home. He was unwilling to send in American troops to safely escort them to the airport while Britain, France, and Germany did send their troops into Afghanistan to safely pull out their citizens. Biden also put tens of thousands of Afghan allies that risked their lives for America at even a greater risk by not informing them of his sudden and cowardly evacuation with no plans to allow them to come to America as promised.
Our NATO allies are furious at Biden’s decision because they were not consulted over this sudden “exit” of Afghanistan and they intensely disagreed with it. For 20 years NATO supported America in Afghanistan after 9/11 and they were betrayed by Biden last week. Britain’s Parliament called Biden’s move “shameful”. The Secretary of NATO harshly condemned Biden’s move. Germany’s Chancellor Merkel attacked Biden’s Afghanistan decision by saying it was “Bitter, dramatic, and terrifying”. Her probable replacement as Chancellor, Armin Laschet, was even harsher when he said “It’s the biggest debacle that NATO has suffered since its creation”. Yet President Biden publicly said that he hasn’t heard any criticism from our allies about his decision!
We also now know that President Biden lied to us when he said that he heard no proof that Afghanistan could fall so fast when he withdrew American troops. We now know that roughly 12 state department experts specifically warned him that this could happen. Military experts also told him the same thing. Yet he didn’t listen to them. Incredibly, Democrat President Biden tried to blame Republican President Trump for this catastrophe. Yet President Trump provably did things the right way regarding Afghanistan. While Trump also wanted to leave Afghanistan, he would only do so if the Taliban kept it’s word regarding peace and his plan was to first remove all US citizens, then remove or destroy all US weapons ($85 billion) so that the Taliban could not use them, then remove our Afghan allies that supported us and move them to the US to protect them, and then and only then remove our troops from Afghanistan. President Trump promised he would punish the Taliban if they broke their promises and he kept 2,500 American troops in Afghanistan to enforce the deal. As a result, not one American was killed by the Taliban for a year under President Trump’s strong deal. Biden did the exact opposite which brought absolute chaos and put hundreds of thousands of Americans, allies, and Afghan women and children at great risk.
The only winners from President Biden’s catastrophic execution of an American withdrawal from Afghanistan are the Taliban, China, Russia, and Iran as it will help them accomplish their goals of killing freedom and expanding their power across the world.
