PEORIA – Congressman Darin LaHood (R-16) was endorsed Sunday night by former President Donald J. Trump on Truth Social:
Trump pointed out LaHood's background and the fact that he is a current member of the House Intelligence Committee and that he is a "Champion for Illinois Farmers, our Brave Veterans, and our Great Police…"
LaHood and three others are on the 2022 IL GOP Primary ballot for June 28, 2022.
LaHood doesn't agree with Trump on who should represent the 15th CD, however. Trump was in Adams County, Illinois Saturday evening to endorse Congresswoman Mary Miller over fellow Congressman Rodney Davis. The two incumbents are vying to represent the newly-redrawn 15th CD.
LaHood – in an unenviable position to pick between two colleagues – chose to endorse Davis over Miller in that highly-competitive race.
