SCHAUMBURG IL —The Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) based in Schaumburg, Illinois, is presenting its 2022 Champion of Small and Mid-Size Manufacturers Award to 44 state lawmakers that demonstrated their support for TMA members’ best interests during the 102nd General Assembly.

“In today’s difficult business climate, these legislators have been steadfast in their support of small and mid-size manufacturers,” said Dennis LaComb, TMA’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff. “They know manufacturing is the backbone of Illinois economy, and their votes in Springfield recognize that fact. We very much appreciate their efforts.”

The legislators receiving the Champion Award scored 70% or higher on the TMA’s annual Legislative Scorecard. The Scorecard highlights ten votes of significance to the TMA in the 102nd General Assembly. TMA’s position on these ten issues were designed to protect or advance small and mid-size manufacturing in Illinois. TMA represents 800 companies in Chicagoland and throughout the state.

“Deserving TMA’s recognition is no small feat,” LaComb said. “It takes an intentional effort to support our members’ concerns in the manufacturing field. It takes communication with these legislators so they know the unique challenges we face in Illinois. And these legislators have listened, voted, and acted with support to our small and mid-size manufacturing community.”

Since 1925, the TMA has provided resources, information, training, and advocacy for small and mid-size manufacturers.
