OPINION: Should the Trump Administration be Gatekeeping College Admissions?

Joe Biden and liberal progressives have declared war on every day Americans.

Violent crime is at an all-time high; social media companies are allowing groups to post the real-time location of our law enforcement; our Southern border is wide open; and Americans are struggling to pay their utility bills, groceries, gas and other basic every day needs.

And what are Democrats and the United States Justice Department concerned with?

Censoring American parents.

That is right, concerned parents are the number one domestic enemy according to congressional Democrats, the US Attorney General and President Joe Biden.

One year ago, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland instructed the FBI to investigate concerned parents who spoke out at local school board meetings, even labeling them as possible “domestic terrorists.” And this was at the behest of the National School Boards Association and Randi Weingarten, head of the powerful teacher’s union.

The National School Boards Association, caught in a public relations firestorm when its involvement was revealed has since apologized for accusing parents of engaging in an “equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”

But Garland’s instructions remain in place and are being acted upon — meaning the powers of the Office of the US Attorney General are being used to investigate parents.

Let that sink in.

The President has even stated,

“They’re all our children. And the reason you’re the teachers of the year is because you recognize that. They’re not somebody else’s children. They’re like yours when they’re in the classroom.”

Biden’s remarks can be summed up in one thought: teachers and school boards know more about raising children than parents.

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, D, said,

“I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

The message from these public figures is clear: parents should stay out of their kids’ education and leave it to the professionals.

And where have we heard this kind of rhetoric before? Try the Soviet Union.

Biden and leading Democrats are outraged at the pushback they received at school boards meeting over issues like teaching the 1619 Project, transgender policies, and facilitating sex change operations for minors without parental consent.

In California, one state legislator proposed all children should be taken from their parents and raised by the state to instill equity – more Soviet era thinking.  Democrats are shocked and outraged at the parental pushback with some claiming parents are committing hate crimes with their pushback.

AG Merrick Garland asked to enact the Patriot Act – against CONCERNED PARENTS!

Boy, I did Nazi that from the Biden administration.

STAND YOUR GROUND PARENTS!

Did you authorize the censorship of concerned parents?

— Jack Lombardi II (@JackLombardi) December 20, 2022

As a parent, and I believe I’m speaking for the majority, I do not co-parent with the US government — and no, government does not know what’s best for my children – that is my duty, and it was given to me by God.

Now with Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter and his Twitter file revelations, we see just how far the government has gone, and continues to go to silence parents.

Libs of TikTok, an account on TikTok & Twitter, reveals that the most absurd examples of progressive ‘wokeism’ fell under federal scrutiny for merely reposting what progressive teachers posted on TikTok.

They went on to report their own reposted content to the federal government which was viewed as a hate crime.  The feds then pressured Twitter to ban the account, which for several days, was in fact banned.

However, this was not an isolated case and until we push Congress to act, this will continue.

It’s important to mention that TikTok is a Chinese-owned social media app and friendly to Democrats. Shocker.

Over the past few years, numerous parents were banned or had their accounts limited. (Limited is a way to limit social reach, for all intents and purposes, censor American parents)

Why did the feds do this? The Biden administration doesn’t like when parents speak out against radical far left education policies.  And mind you, at the same time, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khameni called for the destruction of both Israel and the United States on Twitter — and called for the execution of women who were not dressed in what he considered “proper attire.”  His tweets go against Twitters rules, and yet not a word from progressive run Twitter 1.0. Disgusting.

Children belong to their parents; not the school board, not the teacher, and certainly not teachers union – the PARENTS.

For too long, the left has waged its war on parents. We need to fight them with their own tools.

Let’s start by banning some of the leading progressive voices against parents – Adam Schiff; Nikole Hannah-Jones, author of the 1619 Project; Randi Weingarten and others who want to take away parental rights.

But beyond this, let’s begin arresting the progressives and prosecuting them when harm is done to our children.

In Virginia, under Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s directive, the Attorney General investigated and is now prosecuting the Loudin County School Superintendent who knowingly lied and looked the other way when a male student who identified as transgender sexually assaulted two female students.

The only way we win the war against parents is by taking the battle to the left.

The radical left is America’s chief domestic terrorist, not parents.

And at the Congressional level, there are two actions we can take to stop the radical left propagandists.

First, we repeal and revise Section 230 to meet the threats social media and the internet can have on society, democracy, and our Republic.

Second, repeal the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012. The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 allows domestic propaganda which until 2013, was prevented by the post WWII Smith-Mundt Act.

Our government is out-of-control and the reason why, we as a nation are so divided.

Do you even believe the Schiff you Tweet?

But let’s continue this important conversation. And let’s keep the pressure on our government officials.
