Springfield, IL – Despite public comments to the contrary, the Illinois House Minority Leader has telegraphed her unwillingness to heal the fractured Illinois House Republican Caucus by rejecting serious efforts from the Illinois Freedom Caucus to promote unity.

During a recent exchange, the Minority Leader declared her unwillingness to accommodate or collaborate with this influential conservative wing and has even refused to give the Illinois Freedom Caucus a voice in the decision-making process.

The Illinois Freedom Caucus, which represents a substantial contingent of principled conservatives across the state, champions fiscal responsibility, personal freedom, and accountability in government. Its members and allies are dedicated to upholding the values shared by many Illinois families and voters who feel abandoned by establishment politicians.

The refusal of leadership to engage with the Freedom Caucus signals a troubling disregard for the diversity of thought and values within the Republican Party. At a time when voters are demanding a unified and effective opposition to the radical left’s political agenda in Illinois, this decision undermines efforts to collaborate and build a stronger, more robust party.

“Leadership requires listening to all voices within our party, especially those who bring energy, passion, and principled conservatism. By sidelining the Freedom Caucus, the Minority Leader is not only silencing the voices of conservative lawmakers, but also the voters we represent. This is a disservice to the people of Illinois and a missed opportunity for true unity and accountability.

Moving forward, the Illinois Freedom Caucus will continue to fight for the principles that resonate with grassroots voters statewide, and the true base of the Illinois Republican Party. While the Minority Leader’s actions may seek to silence conservative voices, the Freedom Caucus will not be deterred in its mission to advance common-sense policies and stand as a bold voice for the people of Illinois.”

The Illinois Freedom Caucus is comprised of State Representatives Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro), chairman; Blaine Wilhour (R-Beecher City), vice-chairman; Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich); Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville); Jed Davis (R-Newark); David Friess (R-Red Bud) and State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport).
