When Chicago residents begged for help, their leaders said no — and the judge who backed that decision has deep political ties reaching straight to Joe Biden and George Soros.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge April Perry, nominated by President Joe Biden in 2024, issued a stunning ruling blocking the deployment of the National Guard to Chicago. The order came as federal agents and local law enforcement faced growing violence and attacks.

But Perry’s decision is no neutral act of judicial restraint. Her resume tells a story of deep connections to Chicago’s left-wing political establishment – and to the very officials whose failures have plunged the city into crisis.
Before ascending to the federal bench, Perry served as Chief of Ethics for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, one of the most controversial prosecutors in America. Foxx, a George Soros-funded progressive, has become nationally known for her refusal to prosecute violent criminals, for dropping felony charges in the Jussie Smollett case, and for presiding over one of the worst crime surges in Chicago’s modern history.

Under Foxx’s leadership, homicides, carjackings, and robberies skyrocketed, while repeat offenders were released with little or no bail. Her office routinely declined to charge suspects even in cases with overwhelming evidence – leaving residents terrified and neighborhoods gutted by violence.
Now one of her closest former aides sits on the federal bench, blocking the very law-and-order response the city desperately needs.
Critics point to a disturbing pattern. Soros-backed prosecutors like Kim Foxx, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, and Alvin Bragg in New York have transformed major cities into havens for repeat offenders. Their soft-on-crime policies have emptied jails and flooded streets with criminals, leaving victims – often children – without justice.
Now, with Judge Perry’s ruling, Chicago’s citizens are left defenseless once again.
The National Guard deployment had been requested to stabilize neighborhoods where federal ICE agents and police officers had recently come under attack by mobs during enforcement operations. The Guard’s mission was to protect federal personnel and facilities. Instead, Perry’s ruling effectively leaves those officers exposed – and sends a message that ideology is more important than safety.
Gov. JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson cheered the decision, but for many Illinois families, it feels like another betrayal.
Since Johnson took office, Chicago has led the nation in mass shootings and youth homicides – grim milestones that no amount of progressive rhetoric can hide.
Judge Perry’s ruling isn’t just about legal interpretation – it’s about political loyalty. She owes her career to the same left-wing network that’s crippled the justice system from within. Her mentor, Kim Foxx, was elected with millions in Soros cash. Biden, who nominated Perry, has repeatedly praised Foxx’s policies. And now, with a stroke of a pen, Perry has ensured that Chicago remains a testing ground for failed progressive experiments.
As crime spirals and citizens plead for safety, Chicago’s leaders – and their allies in the courts – seem determined to prove one thing: chaos isn’t a mistake. It’s the plan.
