The aftermath of the 2024 election has been interesting to watch.

Republicans, independents, and other Trump voters sighed a sigh of relief at the presidential victory, then spent the days thereafter studying results as the outstanding races slowly got resolved. We have watched our 401Ks begin to recover; we have looked on with interest as President Trump has begun to name his key appointments.

That’s the way it should be.

By contrast, we have watched Democrats, socialists, and other Harris-Walz voters react, both on social media and in person, with either feigned fear and depression, or worse yet, possibly the real thing.

There have been reports that colleges and universities, and even high schools and junior highs in some places, cancelled tests and homework, figuring their mollycoddled students wouldn’t be up to a normal school day after such trauma. There are even reports that colleges passed out coloring books to their adult students to help them escape the shock of seeing an election go differently than they were told to expect.

In the 20th century, the White House changed parties repeatedly, often to and from candidates who were diametrically opposed on the issues. From McKinley, TR and Taft to Woodrow Wilson and his wife. From the Wilsons to Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover. From them to Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Truman. From Truman to Eisenhower, then from Eisenhower to JFK and LBJ.

Again and again, the White House changed hands, and our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents could handle it.

What happened to us? How come the Democrats of earlier times could handle losing the White House, knowing they’d get it back again someday, but the Democrats of today turn into gelatin?

We see grown women on social media shaving their heads, changing their facebook avatars to a black screen, committing to unfriend anyone they know who voted Republican. We watch them make Tik-Toks and Facebook Reels, swearing off whatever their men usually want from them, committing to four years without sex, or without dinner, or without nagging, or whatever it is they think they bring to the table (and we onlookers assume they’re mistaken, and the men in their lives might welcome the break).

But seriously, we must acknowledge that there is a real fear behind this overreaction. And we should address it.

There are people who have fallen for the false Democrat messaging that a Trump administration will somehow endanger women – denying them healthcare, denying them jobs, making them second class citizens, etc.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact, it has been Democrat policies that have created results like that over the years.

Obamacare’s assault on the insurance industry denied tens of millions of people the close and affordable doctor-patient relationships to which they had become accustomed.

Democrat tax hikes, regulatory overreach, hikes in the minimum wage, and particularly their war on energy have cost the economy millions of jobs.

And what makes a person a second-class citizen more than giving non-citizens the benefits that actual citizens are denied? Democrat administrations at both the state and federal level in recent years have kicked law-abiding citizens out of their jobs for failing to accept an experimental vaccine, while inviting unvaccinated illegal aliens into the country and showering them with free cellphones, gift cars, legal aid and even open-ended taxpayer-funded stays in luxury hotel rooms.

Yes, indeed. The Biden-Harris regime literally, illegally, imported millions of noncitizens to compete with American citizens for jobs.

If anyone made you a second-class citizen, it’s the Democratic party, not the incoming Trump 2.0 Administration.

The word of the day is “safe.” We are told that Harris voters “don’t feel safe,” that they “need a safe space,” or “long for a safe environment.”

All we can say as the days go by is, trust us.

The Left doesn’t realize it yet, but our votes, our candidates, and our policies are indeed aimed at delivering safety for all.

The Leftist thought leaders, their influencers and talking heads, speak nobly of “safety” while advocating policies of endangerment. It is these Leftist politicians who throw open the jails and refuse to prosecute violent criminals. It is the Left that has invited hundreds of thousands of foreign criminals over our open borders into our country. It is the Left that has empowered gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, Surenos and Paisas, to take over neighborhoods and infect them with drug abuse and violence.

Does that sound like advocates of safety to you?

By contrast, the Republicans you fear are committed to delivering safer streets for law-abiding Americans, by jailing or deporting the violent criminals, the pushers and muggers, the gang recruiters, brawlers, kidnappers and sex-traffickers.

It’s the Republicans who want you to have a safe walk to and from your car, a safe shift at work, a safe home in which to sleep securely.

You have been told to dislike and distrust the people who try to take your abusers off the street; you blindly support the very politicians who brought these dangers into your community.

In fact, it’s the Republicans who want to protect your children from child traffickers and groomers. It’s the Republicans who are committed to keeping molesters out of your daughters’ school washrooms and locker rooms.

It’s the Republicans who are committed to protecting girls’ sports from men in drag who outweigh and outperform the girls who belong there; it’s the Republicans who will save girls from embarrassment, injury, even disfigurement by unfair competitions with brutish men who take advantage of political cowardice to steal away the awards, titles and scholarships from the girls who actually belong there.

You don’t have to like any politician, of course; that’s a personal choice. If you happen to identify with one politician and not with another, that’s entirely up to you.

But the issue of safety isn’t a value judgment; it’s a question of reality.

And while the Democratic party continues to intentionally put America’s girls in danger on a daily basis – from groomers and abortionists, pushers and pimps – the Republican party will continue to try its best to protect you – and your sisters and mothers and daughters and aunts – from all these criminals.

Whether you vote Republican or not.

Because it’s the Republican party that strives to make America safe, everywhere and always.

You might just want to consider that fact, the next time you think about insulting, unfriending, or blocking the Facebook acquaintance or In-Real-Life friend with whom you just happened to disagree on a ballot or two.
