Chicago, IL – Republican frontrunner for Governor, Darren Bailey, received a major boost as several pro-Life advocacy organizations formally endorsed him during a press conference in Trump Tower in Chicago Thursday.

"Darren Bailey is a champion with a clear track record. Courageous. Bold. Determined. Honest. Trustworthy. Genuine. These words describe Darren Bailey," said David E. Smith, director of Illinois Family Action. "After thorough deliberation, the IFA team is thrilled to announce which nominee has our hearty endorsement in the race for governor: State Senator Darren Bailey."

The Illinois Federation for Right to Life, Illinois Citizens for Life, Illinois Family Action, and several local advocacy groups such as the Lake County Life PAC all endorsed Darren Bailey for Governor Thursday.

"Darren Bailey has demonstrated a strong commitment for life and he is unafraid to speak out on the issues of life," said Ralph Rivera, Chairman of Illinois Citizens for Life. "Also, of significance for us is that we see Darren and Stephanie running a strong grassroots campaign of our pro-life grassroots people all over Illinois. They have put together the people, grassroots support, and financial resources to make them very viable candidates to win in November to defeat a radically anti-life incumbent governor in J.B. Pritzker. Bailey said he will continue fighting for working families, taxpayers, our students, and the unborn who need an advocate fighting for them."

"I am humbled to receive endorsements from major pro-life advocacy organizations like Illinois Federation for Right to Life, Illinois Citizens for Life, Illinois Family Action, and the Lake County Life PAC," Bailey said.

Bailey continued, "I proudly stand with most Illinoisans who support parental rights and restoring parental notification, but sadly, Pritzker is too busy pushing extreme policies to compete with California or New York on who can be the most pro-abortion state. When Pritzker signed his anti-parent and anti-child legislation to remove parental notification, he enabled sexual predators and human traffickers that parental notification has a proven track record of deterring. If elected governor, I will continue working to repeal Pritzker’s egregious oversteps of government, restore parental rights, end taxpayer-funded abortion once and for all, and work toward policies that give women real options during and after pregnancy, and protect our children and life in general."

The other Republicans running in the June 28th primary include Bailey, Richard Irvin, Gary Rabine, Jesse Sullivan, Paul Schimpf and Max Solomon.
