Washington insider Barry Bennett left the Carson campaign Thursday
WASHINGTON DC – Political strategists Barry Bennett and Doug Watts walked away from Dr. Ben Carson's presidential campaign Thursday, leaving in charge Major General Bob Dees, U.S. Army, Retired, as campaign chairman and Ed Brookover, who formerly served as senior strategist, to serve as campaign manager.
Dr. Carson commended Bennett and Watts on their efforts, which had Carson in a race with Donald Trump for over a month. After two debates and some unfortunate gaffes on public policy, Carson began plunging in the polls. He's now in sixth place, and hoping to find renewed energy to climb the polls again.
"As we enter a new phase of the campaign cycle, it is necessary to invigorate my campaign with a strategy that more aggressively shares my vision and world-view with the American people. I commend Barry Bennett and Doug Watts for their efforts to help me share my vision for America."
