WASHINGTON – While six Illinois GOP Congress members send out releases explaining what they consider to be the valid reasons why they voted with the $1.1 trillion omnibus bill U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi agreed upon, tax advocate groups are hot about today's vote.
The Club for Growth was especially angry with two Republican veteran House members – John Shimkus and Peter Roskam – who both voted for the budget bill, as did GOPers Mike Bost (12) , Rodney Davis (13), Adam Kinzinger (16) and Robert Dold (10). All Democrats – except Luis Gutierrez (4) voted "yes."
Only two Republicans from Illinois voted "no" – Randy Hultgren (14) and Darin LaHood (18).
“Once again taxpayers are the biggest losers because Congressmen John Shimkus (IL-15) and Peter Roskam (IL-6) sided with nearly all House Democrats in passing another budget buster,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh.
“Conservative spending principles were jettisoned from this Omnibus, in favor of a 2,000-page bill filled with liberal policies and wasteful spending. In addition, it broke Congress’ own modest spending caps, and is little more than a Christmas present for those who refuse to cut federal spending. Constituents of Reps. Shimkus and Roskam should urge them to stop voting for more debt.”
They hope to throw the blame on Obama and the Democrats and use it as proof of the big spending the Democrats push. You know.. blame the President and the Democrats for the inactions or the overspending of a GOP led do nothing for the american people congress.
During the 2012 elections .. Obama was the do nothing President. Even though it was congress that was doing ZERO,.
Congress writes law.. Obama signs them or vetoes them. nothing else. This GOP congress is the pits. They have spent over of 100 million to pass anti healthcare legislation what? 47 times? they absolutely know will get vetoed every single time. Its a game of play with nothing real happening. Hedging bets for 4 years till the next election.
Unfortunately Dold and Bost have no primary opponents. Here’s to success for the opponents of all these traitors.
Gutierrez did not vote yes?
Why not?
Was there not a consideration in the omnibus to grant immediate citizenship to 400 billion Mexicans?
And how old is this picture of Paul bin Ryan?
Doesn’t IR have a more recent photo of bin Ryan, where he is sporting facial hair to show solidarity with his jihadi brethren?
I would have voted NAY.
my opponent in this 8th District republican primary has Roskam as his co-chair, calls himself a “moderate who gets along better with Democrats. and he has broken campaign finance laws what appears to be over 100x. http://www.peterdicianni.com
I am the conservative in the 8th district, and when people learn that, I am ahead 60% – 12%.

“Vote with dems.” Nice. You realize vast majority of republican supported right? But if something isn’t perfect then burn the witch! Never mind the constitution and divided govt.
Divided government?
Now there’s a concept!
Thnk we’ll ever see anything resembling that again?
that was weird and sudden, wasn’t it?
