Ohio Governor John Kasich's campaign won't be in South Carolina much this week leading up to Saturday's primary. It appears the campaign is not focused on gathering southern conservative votes, but instead targeting Midwestern GOP moderates that are more concerned about economic issues.
That political strategy fits well with campaign staffers like the Schrimpf brothers, who led Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner in a similar – and victorious – campaign in 2014. Kasich has the backing of Illinois GOP leaders, too.
This morning, Kasich made an appearance in Michigan, Chris Schrimpf Tweeted this am:
I KNEW they would pull this trick.
The “establishment” GOP has had enough with Failure Jeb Bush and is seeking a new puppet to do their bidding.
I won’t vote for a president if Republicrat Kasich is the republican choice
Who are those “Midwestern GOP Moderates?”
Are they listed in one of the thinnest books in the world,
“GREAT REPUBLICAN MODERATES AND THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS”?
“Republican Moderate” = “Democrat Lite.”
Mark Kirk is one that immediately comes to mind ………
