Sandack police report reveals he was blackmailed

DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove police report filed by former State Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) raises more questions than it answers. The report says that Rep. Sandack was blackmailed by a woman in the Philippines – and any details concerning what prompted the relationship and the financial exchange are redacted from the report.

What information did the woman have that would make Sandack feel compelled to wire her money? Why did he attempt to satisfy her demands rather than immediately file a report? Why did he feel it necessary to resign rather than deal with the issue in his role as a lawmaker?
