CHICAGO – Just a little over a week ago, State Senator Daniel Biss (D-Chicago) introduced with great excitement his running mate for the Democrat 2018 gubernatorial race to be Chicago Alderman Carlos Rosa. Rosa's identity with the Democratic Socialists of America and his support for anti-Semitic movements was not received well by even the Bernie Sanders' lovin' crowd.
Biss dropped Rosa like a hot potato, and Friday – just 8 days after announcing Rosa's candidacy – Biss announced his second choice – State Rep. Litesa Wallace of Rockford.
Wallace was appointed to her Illinois House seat in 2014 to replace outgoing Chuck Jefferson.
Litesa Wallace isn't the first in her family to run for lieutenant governor of Illinois. Her cousin, conservative Republican Dr. Eric Wallace, considered a run for LG in 2006 before running for the Illinois Senate. (updated)
