In a mass email Monday, the Pritzker campaign says they've drilled down into the voting stats from last Tuesday's gubernatorial bid – and despite Bruce Rauner giving over $57 M to his own campaign, the Pritzker people report embarrassing numbers for Rauner:
- We saw the highest voter turnout in an Illinois election since 1990
- This year was the first time Peoria County went blue in a gubernatorial election since 1968, Champaign County since 1936, DuPage County since 1932, and Kane County, since 1912!
- This was the lowest vote share for any incumbent Illinois governor in the last century
And it cost Pritzker a mere $147 Million of his own funds (Forbes says more like $171M) in the past year. Chump change for an investor worth an approximate $3.2 B.
Per VoteSmart .
As compared to incumbent Bruce Rauner spending over $57M to defend himself.
Per VoteSmart
Each vote cost Pritzker $58.
This is on Trump, plain and simple.
Peoria, Champaign and Dupage counties went for Clinton in 2016.
The ILLinois is basically dead.
Madigan now has unfettered power. Illinois is now doomed.
This is on Rauner. He placated Madigan and the conservative base didn’t show.
Don’t ever change Stevie.
It’s a nice try but the National Review rated him the worst governor in America when Trump hadn’t been in there for a year.
Not In Charge owns his mess.
He must be paying you decent money to keep you trolling.
If I recall, President Trump came to Illinois to campaign for Mike Bost and Bost won fairly easily.
Stop whining Stevie. Trump didn’t make Not In Charge hop on that ridiculous motorcycle and ride past down and out towns and put it in a commercial that made Michael Dukakis look like an alpha male like Sylvester Stallone.
It wasn’t Trump’s fault that Not In Charge barely squeaked by a non entity like Jeannie Ives. And he had to resort to Lyin Bruce to beat such a lightweight.
Trump didn’t make him do “Beers with Bruce”.
This was the worst candidate and worst campaign I’ve seen for any office.
I’m amazed he only lost by 16 points.
Bost winning is on Trump, RINer and Roskam losing ISN’T. Look at an Illinois county map from two years ago.
I don’t think ANY of these counties have been red, in a Presidential year, since 2004. I’m not even sure if it was 2004 or 2000 for at least two of those three counties. More than that, those counties have long been known to harbor RINOs. So being red isn’t saying much.
Illinois GOP that is. But come to think about it that goes for the whole state.
No it is on Rauner as well as huge legal and illegal immigration from 3rd world countries and an exodus of some 1,000,000 Whites since 1980.
Get it. Do I have to explain it even more to you?
Illinois GOP is now the burning boat floating away on the river Styx.
Do we know how Pritzker’s vote breaks down among various categories — for instance, whites, blacks, asians, latinos, illegals, deads, babies, etc?
Commies gotta Commie
Rauner killed the Illinois GOP. It was on life support but Rauner pulled the plug. It ain’t coming back.
You have to go back to 1994 to find a candidate that grabbed a lower percentage of the vote than Rauner did.
He did worse than the chain smoking redhead Judy Topinka.
He’s Dawn Clark Netsch (who probably would have beaten him).
Not quite yet. They aren’t stupid.
They don’t pass their crazy stuff with a Democrat governor. They wait for stupid Republicans to walk off the cliff with them.
They waited for stupid Republicans to sign a Sanctuary State bill into law.
Stupid Republicans made the tax increase permanent.
Stupid Republicans ended the death penalty.
Stupid Republicans gave us the state income tax in the first place.
He’ll probably save the mileage tax for the next stupid Republican (if there ever is one). Same with graduated tax.
That sums it up!
HUH?
Have you been drinking?
Indiana is still nice – and a lot cheaper. (BTW – in terms of Greek mythology- Illinois is headed “across the River Styx. ie. on its way to Hades) Just sayin’.
Rauner insulted conservatives at every turn possible. I sure didn’t cast a vote for him. I didn’t have my “big boy pants” on that election day.
We voted for the Conservative candidate, due to Rauner’s making us pay for abortion. We get to leave soon for Iowa, yay! 🙂
