Former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci received a taxpayer-funded security detail as part of his retirement package from the U.S. government after having served as the chief medical advisor to the president for 38 years.

Fauci, who abused his powers during the pandemic and made up guidelines that destroyed lives and livelihoods, has left taxpayers with a $15 million security tab as he enjoyed retirement over the last two years – chauffeured around in a motorcade of SUVs and surrounded by a team of U.S. Marshalls around the clock. Fauci went on vacations, took walks with his wife and embarked on a national book tour – all while being trailed by a large contingent of taxpayer-funded security officers.

Just this month, Fauci was spotted with a private security detail after his taxpayer-funded one recently ended, but the expensive protection unit is rare for a retired government official in the health care space. Typically, the Vice President, White House chief of staff, CIA Director, Secretary of State and other senior officials receive protection for a time after leaving office – but for an NIH director to receive such protection for two years after retirement is unheard of.

Fauci, who has an estimated $11 million net worth, is constantly surrounded by US Marshals whether he is at home or going to TV studios to film interviews.

A few weeks ago, the U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released its final report after a 2-year investigation that confirmed what many Americans have been saying along – the vaccine did not stop the spread or transmission of the disease, mask mandates were implemented without any scientific data – and lockdowns – especially school closures – caused “immeasurable harm” to children and adults.

The report also found that many decisions by government officials that included social distancing guidelines were not based on science – as Fauci testified that the guidance “sort of just appeared.” Widespread abuse of power by government officials, including Fauci was also identified in the findings. Officials also purposely ignored the effectiveness of natural immunity.

Fauci remains a controversial figure and is blamed for implementing mandates and guidelines that were not based on scientific evidence, while at the same time abusing his power during the pandemic. In 2020 – the year of the pandemic, Dr. Fauci and his wife, who also earned a federal government salary, earned over $868,000 in income and compensation – making him the highest paid official in the federal government – including the President.

President Joe Biden and his team are considering granting Fauci a pre-emptive full pardon in lieu of this report and the recent election of President Donald Trump – who has vowed to root out corruption and hold officials like Fauci accountable for their actions during the pandemic.
