SPRINGFIELD – In one Tweet Monday morning from Springfield, Democrat State Rep. Chris Welch (Chicago) showed the world one reason why Illinois is unable to come up with a balanced state budget. It's simple – simple math, that is. Math that Rep. Welch evidently doesn't understand.
This is what we're up against, folks … and why Speaker Madigan so easily leads his Democrat caucus at the head of the pack over the fiscal cliff.
Moron.
I wonder, is he really that ignorant or is he a liar?
I guess it all depends on how you call it “an increase.”
Figures don’t lie, but liars figure.
For those who don’t remember,
pull out a calculator
(to compute a 32% increase multiply by 1.32)
3.85 x 1.32 = ?
Whoever tweeted that is obviously math challenged. Going from 3.75% to 4.95% is an increase of 1.2 PERCENTAGE POINTS, but it is NOT an increase of 1.2%.
Here is the correct way to calculate percent change (in this case, percent increase):
(4.95 – 3.75)/3.75 = 0.32, which is the decimal equivalent of 32%. Rauner is indeed correct. The Dems are ignorant and/or stupid, as always.
He must have graduated with “oh really” from a Chicago Public School.
Here goes rep Welch embarrassing me and my high school once again.
Can we please find high school educated people that have worked for a living get elected to run our governments. College education is failing us. Next thing you know 93 million people a day will be killed in fun violence
Democrats are the party of the lie, the party of confiscation and theft, and the party of Madigan.
He goes by Chris because he can’t spell Emmanuel.
Quess that is what happens with new math. No ability to figure anything out using logic.
Can you believe someone would post that stupidity…
Before he “graduated” to Springfield, Welch headed up the Board of Education in Proviso Township.
Uh, I’m not for the increase, but going from 3.75 to 4.95 is indeed a 32% increase. If you made $10000 before, your tax bill was $375. It will now be $495. That $120 difference is an increase of 120/375 = 32%.
Looks like the exodus from Illinois will be getting bigger.
They want to believe in magic. Smoke and mirrors while Rome burns.
Lee, you are absolutely correct. The Democrats are brilliant at misleading, or, should I say…lying.
